The Weather for Today in sOUTh jersey is only light rain and only for half the day . . .

The Weather for the Week is winds coming with the sun on Wednesday with the winds going away Thursday but the sun staying around until Sunday before more rain next Monday!

What is Happening OUTside Today in the World is ... a climate legislation bill designed to limit green house gases is hovering on extinction in the Senate after barely passing in the House of Representatives last year.

This famous photo of Tank Man in 1989 by photographer Jeff Widener, shows the PLA's advancing tanks halting near Tiananmen Square.

What Happened OUTside on this Day is ... in 1989 student protestors took over Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

The Word of the Day is coxcomb - a vain, showy fellow; a conceited, silly man, fond of display; a superficial pretender to knowledge or accomplishments - as in Tank Man was not a coxcomb, but rather he became a symbol of a revolution in China for the freedom of speech.

The Wisdom of the Day comes via Coach Skip Werley:

“Opposition inflames the enthusiast, never converts him.” - J.C.F. von Schiller

The Who is J.C.F. von Schiller (1759 – 1805) is this German poet, historian and playwright wrote many philosophical papers on ethics and aesthetics ... "beauty" for Schiller is not merely an aesthetic experience, but a moral one as well - the Good is the Beautiful. He was also a friend with the influential Johann Wolfgang Goethe and now is a literary friend of Into the Outside.

The What is Happening this Weekend is on Sunday at noon Sara Todd, Caitlyn Kliniewski and Megan Knight - a trio of compassionate 6th graders - will host the inaugural Caring Kids Backyard Benefit in Deptford.
